The Department of Intellectual Property is working to draft a law to “collect copyright fees” to regulate the use of music.

Therefore, to organize and improve the collection of royalties in Thailand to be transparent, fair, beneficial to both copyright owners and users, and to have the same standards as other countries, the department is preparing to draft a law on the collection of remuneration for the use of copyrighted works and performers' rights to respond to the government's Soft Power policy that aims to promote the creative industries, especially the music industry, where Thailand has the potential.
